Here are a few photo's from the meet.
Hope you enjoy them.

Final day

Well June 19 was blue with light winds. Perfect. Pilots and wind
technicians that launched early did ok for 30 min. But would
adventually end up landing. Around 12:30 it was time to get going and
take our chances as the site is known to blow down in the afternoon.
I was one of the lucky few that got up right at launch. I got a couple
thousand above take off about 5000', kind of lost the lift and headed
for the first turn pt. not wanting to join others in the bomb out at
Randys.
After the turn pt I found my next thermal and got too 6500'
As I got closer to Vernon the climbs were getting better and I was
getting to cloud base regularly. 7400'
I raced up to Cherryville, tagged the tp.
Then landed as I did not want to fly back as there was a large cell on
the course line.
There wasn't much cell coverage where I landed however standing on a
stump I was barely able to text Cathie my coordinates and she came to
get me.
I found out I won the day and so ended up winning the meet. That felt
good. The best reword is my fellow pilots are starting to think I'm
good at this flying thing and I will just let them think this as long
as possible.

June 18

Well no task today. Storms in the area
and when there wasn't any storms too close it was not really sorable.
After the window closed there was a few nice flights. John Theoret had
2 hrs. Test flying a T2C. Yea he likes it.

Tomorrow looks great. Again.

Thursday June 17 th

Today we started with a drive up Vernon mtn. It was cold with light
rain so we went back to base at Randys.

Our next target was Saddle mtn. Right in Lumby. It looked like sleigh
rides were going to be the norm. Bruce and Jeff launched first and
avoided the landing field for 45 or 60 min. Shortly after they landed
the sun came out and most launched.

About 7 pilots landed around the 7 km. Mark. Just enough to get a
couple pts. out of the jar but it will not be much. Jon and I climbed
out nicely then went on glide for the first turn pt. I was indecisive
not knowing if I should go straight for the turn pt. or Rolands
cliffs. We ended up giving the cliffs a fly by before going for the
turn pt. Camels hump. I did not have enough altitude to tag the turn
pt. And Jon and I ended up landing. Shortly we were joined my Rob n
Jason.

K enough about a marginable day.
Tomorrow looks damp but Saturday could be good.

Well "they" decided to score the day with the turn pt. in the middle
of noware. I think they had to do this as there was no reason or rule
to say you
should not score the day.

Today we got another task in. The task was long but the flights were
short. 85km. Task OK not real long but the flights were even shorter.
Jeff and I went 20km. and I think that was the furthest. Many bomed,
after lots of hard scratching. The lift just wasn't there today and so
I don't think the day will count for many pts.

We are getting light rain now but they are calling for clouds tomorrow
with sunny brakes. High of 20C. Should be able to get another round in.

We did not fly yesterday, something about all the rain coming down.
The day was called at 1pm. A lot of us went for a swim at the pool in
Vernon. Ofcourse the sun came out later on in the day and it was a
nice evening.

Rick and Terry had nice flights off saddle. They got 2000 over launch
and flew for an hr. or so. Glenn and Biron had nice flight from King
Eddie.

This morning has low clouds, kind of socked in but with a little sun
it should open up. Winds are forecast light all day. I will let you
know how it goes.

Still no ruling on what to do with day two and the turn pt 20km. into
the BC wilderness. I think they should score it to the last good
landing field. This would give the pilots that went the furthest the
most pts. Seems fair.

Others want to give everyone zero. Pilots that did not do as well get
the same as pilots that did well. Doesn't seem fair.

We will see what they decide.

Day 2, well almost

Today was day two, and we almost got a task in. Most had nice flights, myself included.
The first turn point was 53km. away, launched into a real nice cycle and climbed out with Dave Scott to cloud base right away, almost like cheating as most had to struggle in the lee side before getting up. Dave and I climbed straight to cloud base in 700 up, then we were on course. " Glider was flying great too, fixed my little turn issue."
After getting to Cherry ville and close to the first turn pt, well I was 20 km. away, but things did not look right. My GPS was telling me to go where there was no landing fields. I climbed to cloud base but still could not see any landing fields on the course. Hmm. Well after checking and rechecking my gps, I started to fly back towards Randy's hoping I had not made a misstake programing my gps. Anyways after enjoying the rest of my flight, I landed with several others, and they confirmed, they did not want to go to the turn pt. either.
Anyways alot of nice flights today, but I don't think it will be scored, but thats OK, still have the memories and photo's. Nice to have the glider flying well too.

Today, day 1 of the Canadian Nationals was blowen out. We went up
Coopers, but found the wind quarting down so headed over to saddle. It
was strong when we got there and picked up as the day went on.

A task was set, about 25kms. 6-8 pilots launched. It was ruff n windy.
The aproaches into Randy's were interesting as the wind socks were
always changing direction.

Tomorrow looks good, with light winds so we hope that is what we get.

Test run for nationals

Well today was real good. Well pretty good
We did not get real high, but there was alot
of lift. We had 98km. Task. It consist of three
15 km triangles then two 25 km. Triangles.
I was 2/3 of the final triangle short. But good
for third. :<)

Lots of button pressing on the gps. I was pretty
busy as my glider had a turn in it and there
was alot of traffic. About 20 hang gliders
and 40 para gliders.
We had a great Mexican dinner
the bond fire is lit and the
band is playing. Tomorows
forcast is good and there's
happy pilots everywhere

I will try for a few photos tomorrow.
