2012 Wrap up

First I want to congratulate Tyler Borradaile our New Canadian Champion.
He sure flies well,.... no flies on him.
Jeff pushed hard, but Tyler is not afraid to stay low and go hard. I was thinking poor Tyler way down there, cannot find any lift, he just kept going and going, and never landed until making it to goal, or at least real far down the course line. Jeff did beat Tyler one day, and was only 1 second behind on another. Jeff was very consistent, nipping at Tyler's heals all the time.

Serge Lamarche won the King Post Class, outdistancing many topless pilots on several days. Both Timmy Middlemiss and Erick Boisvert were chasing Serge, but the experienced pilot kept the rookies off for another year.

We had a real good time at the Island Restaurant Saturday night. Out on the patio, the video Larry Shumlich, Ashley Mohan and Karen Keller made playing in the back ground, its here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s8XAptgfX4&feature=youtu.be
After a delicious dinner, Roast Beef, Chicken Tarragon, Caramel Salmon, Baby potatoes, Salads and Desert we got into dishing out the hardware.

Boyz with their new Toyz, Long Boards, from Sayshun., Thanks Scott Graville.

A Big Thank you to Doug Keller for doing the scoring. First Class Job Doug.
Its hard to find someone that will work for $2.46/ hr.

Here are the results, but more details can be found at

Here are the numbers

After 5 days of flying here are the results. Yesterday was a little stronger as you can see, it was a 380 point day as compared to 118 the day before. We also had a new day winner yesterd, Jeff "the Jet" Remple. Jeff went 4 kilometers further then  Tyler "Mr. T " Borradaile. Most pilots were having trouble getting above 8000 feet, but Doug "King Pin " keller got to 10200. Today looks similar to the last couple days, hot sunny, light winds, strong thermals with small cores that do not go too high.,
K, gotta go get ready.

Day 5, Task 4

First back to task 3, I am sorry I do not have results yet. I'm waiting too. But on Task 3, It was Tyler beating Jeff by 1 second. Now thats tight.
Task 4 was looking like it would be just as good, and perhaps more fun, but the day never realy materalized. Jeff Launched first and struggled on his own for 30 min. before anyone went out to help. In the end, Tyler won again, making it 40 km. in very tricky conditions, Erick Boisvert. My self and Serge also got away for a few kilometers. Several fought hard on Mount 7, then ended up in Nicholson.
Today looks like it could be similar to yesterday, but if its a bit better we all will do well. Yesterday there was some strong lift, in the 800 fpm bracket, but it only went to 7000'.
OK, thats it for now,
Rozz

Awsome Day4, Task 3

Task 3 was similar to task 1, 100km out and return. I was first off, followed by Jeff. We climbed out and got the last start, 3:30. We raced pretty hard and I was keeping up with Jeff "the Jet" Rempel, until about 1/2 way to the turn pt. Then he decided he did not need my help anymore and left me behind. Wasn't long untill Doug Keller and Tyler Borradaile had cought me. They flashed by me at the trun pt. and took the bullet train back to goal. Doug Keller was on the same train, but got off at one of the stops for a climb and arrived 20 minuts after Jeff and Tyler. I was about 40 minutes after Doug. It would have been faster to stay low, but that does have a risk involved. Several Tagged the turn pt. and made it a long ways back, before the day shut down. Rob Clarkson and Garry Braun were two of them.
I'll get the results up for my five followers as soon as possible.
Today looks real good as well.
Wish you were here.

Up 4 more flying

Hang Gliding Ramp for Sale

After further investigation, we found out the ramp was not really for sale and Tyler took his sign down....... well actually he took it up, way up.

I don't have the official results from yesterdays poker tournament, but after three rounds it was Lieing Larry, King Kevin and River Card Rob all with a win. The fourth round was not completed by the press time, (editors bed time)

Today Day 4, Task 3, is looking real good, actually the rest of the week looks flytastic, we should get several good long task in. I best start getting ready, .. now wear is my lucky shirt.....I don't want to wear the one I wore to poker last night.
